1. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has declared a state of emergency on crude oil production in Nigeria, launching an aggressive campaign against all factors hindering production.
2. Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group, has criticized the Central Bank of Nigeria’s interest rate hike to nearly 30 percent. Speaking at the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria’s summit in Abuja, he stated that the current interest rate makes job creation difficult.
3. New tax laws are expected before the end of this year, according to Taiwo Oyedele, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms.
