1. The Court of Appeal in Abuja has overturned the ex parte order issued by the Rivers State High Court on May 10, 2024, which had prevented Martin Amaewhule from acting as the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
2. On Thursday, a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja convicted and sentenced commercial bus driver Elijah Shokoya to 12 years in prison for the manslaughter of a Lagos State Traffic Management Agency officer. Justice Oyindamola Ogala delivered the sentence after finding Shokoya guilty.
