1. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed concerns that those profiting from the lucrative fuel importation business may attempt to sabotage the Dangote Petroleum Refinery. He made this statement following claims by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, that certain ‘mafias’ were trying to obstruct the $20bn refinery.

2. Nigeria Police Force operatives have arrested over 30 #Endbadgovernance protesters for waving Russian flags in Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, and Bauchi states. According to the Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, an additional 873 protesters have been detained, including a tailor named Ahmed Bello, who was found with numerous flags in Kano.

3. The Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions has charged Inspector Dikko Usman of the Nigeria Police Force and others in connection with the murder of Chief Fatai Jubril, the Baale of Lotu community in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area.

4. The Federal Government plans to sell a 50kg bag of rice at N40,000 to public servants as a measure to ease the nation’s food crisis. This information was revealed in a letter from the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, signed by the Director of Human Resources, Jaiyesimi Abimbola.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has suspended three members of its State Working Committee (SWC) for one month, effective immediately, over alleged misconduct during recent ward congresses. The suspended officials are State Chairman John Ngbede, State Secretary Joseph Nyam, and State Organising Secretary Moses Audu.
