1. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has clarified that local refining of petrol does not necessarily translate to lower prices at the pump. According to the company, fuel prices are primarily determined by market forces and exchange rates, and even local refining may not lead to significant price reductions.

2. President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, has been granted an indefinite leave of absence to attend to pressing medical matters affecting his immediate family. The decision was made after consultations with his family due to a worsening medical situation at home.

3. A devastating petrol tanker explosion on the Ibadan-Ife Expressway stranded thousands of commuters for several hours on Saturday. The incident resulted in the destruction of two articulated trucks, one 18-seater bus, two small commercial cabs, one tricycle, and three motorcycles.
