1. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for labeling the party as “dead.” Kwankwaso, during the inauguration of a New Nigeria People’s Party office in Katsina, claimed he left the PDP because of its demise. However, the PDP responded on Saturday, calling Kwankwaso “inconsequential” in national politics.
2. The Senate ad hoc committee investigating economic sabotage in the petroleum industry has indefinitely postponed its public hearing scheduled for September 10-12. The 15-member committee, chaired by Senate Leader Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, was established to identify economic saboteurs in the industry over the past decade.
3. At least 45 people were killed in an accident along the Agaie-Bida road in Niger State. The crash, which involved a petrol tanker, a truck carrying cattle, and a passenger vehicle, occurred near Man-Woro village around 1 am on Sunday.
