Nigerian oil magnate Sir Emeka Offor has emphasized the crucial role of education at all levels of government in driving economic prosperity in Nigeria. He made these remarks on Wednesday during the presentation of a new book in Abuja, authored by noted journalist Ismail Omipidan.

Offor’s Chief of Staff, retired Assistant Inspector General of Police Chris Ezike, stressed the power of books in shaping future generations. Ezike announced plans to distribute copies of Omipidan’s book, Persona Non Grata, to universities and colleges across Nigeria as part of a nationwide effort to enhance knowledge sharing and boost education.

“One book can train a generation because books represent the bank of knowledge,” Ezike said. “Our founder believes in the power of books, and this is why Persona Non Grata will be part of our national distribution to universities and colleges of education.”

In response, Omipidan described Offor’s backing as “a powerful endorsement of the effort to tell Nigeria’s story of courage, resilience, and consistency through the lens of a journalist.”

The recently published book chronicles Omipidan’s personal journey through journalism and politics, shedding light on the challenges and triumphs he has encountered along the way.
