Nigeria’s Consul-General in Cameroon, Ambassador Taofik Coker, Passes Away

Ambassador Taofik Obasanjo Coker, who served as Nigeria’s Consul-General in Cameroon, has passed away, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Wednesday.

The announcement, signed by the Ministry’s spokesperson Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, stated that Ambassador Coker died on Saturday, August 16, following a brief illness.

Described as a hardworking and dedicated career diplomat, Ambassador Coker served Nigeria with distinction and professionalism in several postings, including Conakry, Guinea, and Shanghai, China, before his assignment in Buea, Cameroon.

“His untimely death is a great loss to the diplomatic community and the nation at large,” the statement said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended its heartfelt condolences to Ambassador Coker’s family, colleagues, and friends during this difficult time and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.
