Renowned Business Mogul Alhaji Aminu Dantata Dies at 94
Eminent Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, has passed away at the age of 94.
A family source confirmed that the elder statesman died in the early hours of Friday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, following a brief illness. He reportedly passed around 3:00 a.m. Nigerian time in a hospital in the UAE capital. Details regarding his funeral arrangements are expected to be announced soon.
Born on May 19, 1931, in Kano, Alhaji Dantata was a towering figure in Nigeria’s business community and a pioneer in the country’s private sector development. Over several decades, he played a crucial role in shaping Nigeria’s industrial and commercial landscape.
Widely respected for his contributions to business and philanthropy, Dantata leaves behind a legacy of enterprise and service. He is survived by seven children and numerous grandchildren, including Alhaji Tajuddeen Aminu Dantata.
