The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Umuahia North in the upcoming local government election in Abia State, Raymond Ofoegbu, has urged Governor Alex Otti and the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to abandon the Labour Party and rejoin APGA.

Speaking to FLO FM in Umuahia on Wednesday, Ofoegbu expressed that returning to APGA would best serve the political interests of both leaders as they prepare for the 2027 elections.

“At a critical time like this, when betrayal has become the norm, I strongly urge Peter Obi and Alex Otti to return to APGA for a smoother path in 2027. The opposition is against them, and I’m not sure they realize the extent of this threat,” Ofoegbu stated.

He accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of orchestrating crises within both the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with the intent to weaken the opposition ahead of the next elections.

Ofoegbu argued that if Obi and Otti, as former members of APGA, were to rejoin the party, they would significantly bolster its influence and help restore it to a winning position in future contests.
