2027: PDP Chieftain, Dan Ulasi Backs Peter Obi’s Four-Year Term Pledge
Dan Ulasi, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed support for Peter Obi’s commitment to serve only one four-year term if elected president in 2027.
Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and Labour Party’s previous presidential candidate, had earlier pledged that he would not seek re-election after his first term. His declaration has sparked debate and skepticism among some politicians.
Speaking in an interview on Arise TV on Tuesday, Ulasi praised Obi’s honesty and sincerity, urging Nigerians to take his promise seriously.
“I believe Peter Obi’s words are sincere. Unlike the usual crop of politicians in Nigeria, he is honest. The constitution guarantees only a four-year term, which can be renewed by the people,” Ulasi said.
He added, “Obi has not said anything out of the ordinary; he believes he can accomplish a great deal in those four years.”
