2027: Sule Lamido reveals how ADC will remove Tinubu from power
Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has likened the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal government to a “cancer,” calling for a more strategic approach from the opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Tuesday, Lamido emphasized the need for the African Democratic Congress (ADC)-backed opposition coalition to adopt a more deliberate and measured strategy. He cautioned against rushing into the political fray without adequate groundwork.
“There is too much rushing; too many sprinters in the coalition,” Lamido said. “They should slow down and look at the issues more deeply so that they will be able to remove this cancer called APC.”
Lamido advised opposition leaders to focus on grassroots engagement and build momentum steadily, adding that a quiet but sustained connection with the public would yield stronger results by the time the coalition fully launches its campaign.
Despite supporting the opposition’s broader goal of unseating the APC, Lamido reaffirmed his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stating he has no intention of leaving a major political platform for a smaller one.
The ADC, which currently includes several prominent politicians from various political backgrounds, has pledged to prevent President Bola Tinubu and the APC from securing a second term in 2027. This commitment comes even as the party continues to navigate internal leadership challenges.
