Former Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, has declared that President Bola Tinubu will not be re-elected in the 2027 general elections—even if Tinubu appoints his son, Seyi Tinubu, as chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Dalung made the statement during an appearance on News Central on Friday night.

He described the upcoming election as a confrontation between Nigerians and Tinubu’s administration, saying, “Even if all 36 state governors defect to the APC, and Tinubu appoints his son as INEC chairman, or even his wife as Chief Justice of Nigeria, they will still be defeated in 2027.”

Dalung added, “This is a fight between ‘we’—the people—and ‘them’—the government. Nigerians should prepare for 2027 because the battle lines have already been drawn. Tinubu’s government has effectively declared war on the people by weaponizing poverty, hunger, and hardship.”

He urged Nigerians to unite with the coalition movement, stating, “Our only option now is to reposition ourselves and confront the government in 2027.”
