As political opposition against President Bola Tinubu’s administration continues to grow, prominent socio-political activist Aisha Yesufu has called on Nigerians to actively participate in shaping the emerging coalition movement.

A coalition of influential political figures from both the North and South—reportedly including All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Chibuike Amaechi, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and ex-Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai—is reportedly forming with the goal of unseating President Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Yesufu warned against leaving politics solely in the hands of wealthy power brokers who can afford to buy N200 million nomination forms.

“Dear Nigerians, be the drivers of the coalition. Participate in it. Call the shots! Make demands!” she urged.

She encouraged citizens to look beyond the presidency and engage in legislative politics, saying:
“Ask for seats, tickets! While the usual politicians are positioning for the executive positions, position for the legislative position.”

Yesufu emphasized the importance of influencing decisions at all levels of governance, urging Nigerians to be involved in choosing candidates for state Houses of Assembly, the House of Representatives, and the Senate.

“Politics should not be left for people who can buy 200 million Naira forms alone,” she added, reinforcing her long-standing call for citizen-led governance.
