On Sunday, the Ebonyi Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC) announced that the All Progressives Congress (APC) won all the positions in Saturday’s local council elections in the state.

Mr. Jossey Eze, Chairman of the Commission, revealed in Abakaliki that the APC secured all 13 local government chairmanship positions and 171 ward councillorship seats.

Eze noted that three political parties—APC, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and the Labour Party (LP)—took part in the elections. He confirmed that the commission has ratified and adopted the results for both chairmanship and councillorship positions as announced by the respective Returning Officers and at the electoral wards.

Expressing satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the election, Eze commended the security agencies and all involved stakeholders for their support. He thanked everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the election.

“The election has concluded, with clear winners and participants,” Eze said. “It is crucial that the victors include everyone and work together to deliver democratic benefits to the grassroots communities represented by the local government areas.”
