The All Progressives Congress (APC) has sharply criticized the newly formed opposition coalition, branding its members as “hoaxers” and “self-obsessed merchants of vendetta,” in a statement by party spokesman Felix Morka on Thursday.

Morka described the coalition as a gathering of Nigeria’s “me-or-nothing” politicians, driven by selfish interests and an insatiable hunger for power and patronage. He accused the coalition members of claiming an immoral right to rule despite a history of betraying public trust and engaging in corrupt practices.

The coalition recently adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its platform for the 2027 general elections, appointing former Senate President David Mark as interim National Chairman and ex-Osun Governor Rauf Aregbesola as interim National Secretary.

Reacting to the unveiling, the APC dismissed David Mark’s speech as devoid of substance, calling it “a loud declaration of desperation for power” filled with baseless allegations against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

The statement questioned the coalition’s vision and policies, asking what alternatives they offer to Tinubu’s economic reforms and what ideological stance they represent beyond their apparent lust for power.

Morka concluded that the coalition is “disgracefully clueless” and indifferent to the welfare of Nigerians, focused solely on their “wolfish quest for power.”
