APC Releases Timetable and Nomination Fees for 2026 Osun Governorship Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday released the official timetable and schedule of activities for the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, detailing key dates for nomination, screening, delegate congresses, and the party’s primary election.

The timetable, signed by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, was issued from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

Key Dates and Activities

  • Notice of Election to State Chapter: Friday, October 3, 2025

  • Membership Register Update: Monday, October 20 – Friday, October 31, 2025

  • Sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms: Opens Wednesday, November 12, 2025

  • Submission Deadline for Completed Forms: Monday, December 1, 2025

The party emphasized that only members whose names appear on the updated register—and who have been financially up to date with their dues for at least one year (as of February 2025)—will be eligible to vote or contest.

Fees and Concessions

  • Expression of Interest Form: ₦10 million

  • Nomination Form: ₦40 million

  • Delegate Form: ₦5,000

  • Total Cost for Governorship Forms: ₦50 million (excluding delegate form)

To promote inclusivity, the APC announced the following concessions:

  • Women and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs): Will only pay for the Expression of Interest Form; the Nomination Form will be issued free.

  • Youths (aged 25–40): Entitled to a 50% discount on the Nomination Form.

Forms will be available at the APC Directorate of Organization, 2nd Floor, National Headquarters, No. 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja.

Delegate Congress and Eligibility

The party noted that only financially active members with at least three months of active membership prior to the congress—based on a subscription fee of ₦200 per month—will be eligible to participate as delegates.

Further stages of the election process will include:

  • Screening of aspirants

  • Publication of screening results

  • Appeal hearings

  • Conduct of governorship primary

  • Ratification of primary result by congress, in accordance with the 2022 Electoral Act (as amended)
