APC Secretary Basiru Urges Nigerians to Pray for Tinubu
The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ajibola Basiru, has called on Nigerians to continue praying for President Bola Tinubu to ensure the success of his administration. Basiru made this appeal on Sunday after attending the two-rakat prayers for Eid al-Adha at the Osogbo Central Eid praying ground in Oke Bale, Osogbo, Osun State capital.
At the Eid praying ground, Chief Imam of Osogbo, Sheikh Musa Animasahun, led the prayers. Other notable attendees included the Asiwaju Muslim for South West, Edo, and Delta States, Dr. Olatunde Badmus; the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji; and the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Teslim Igbalaye.
Basiru highlighted the festival’s significance, emphasizing the values of sacrifice, humility, and obedience to God’s command. He urged Nigerians to remain dedicated to piety, integrity, and selflessness to build a better society.
“We extend our greetings to all Muslims and Nigerians on this occasion. We urge them to continue praying for the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration,” Basiru said.
Meanwhile, the streets of Osogbo, Osun State capital, were free of traffic on Sunday as Muslim worshippers attended various Eid prayer grounds. There was also a last-minute rush to buy rams for the celebration, with prices slightly dropping from previous rates.
In the Oke Baale area, potential buyers were seen bargaining for rams on Sunday morning. A ram seller named Amadou mentioned, “We have to drop the prices because after today, we may not be able to sell again. Some rams that I sold for N250,000 on Saturday, I had to drop to N210,000 this morning. The market is rather dull.”
