APC Suspends Senator Jimoh Ibrahim Due to Alleged Anti-Party Conduct
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has taken disciplinary action against Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, representing Ondo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, due to alleged anti-party conduct. The decision was made by members of the APC Executive Committee of Igbotako Ward 11 in Okitipupa Local Government Area.
Signed by several ward executive members, the suspension notice cites Ibrahim’s violation of the party’s constitution, specifically his decision to sue the party and engage in activities deemed detrimental to the APC’s interests. Consequently, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim Folorunso is suspended from the APC with immediate effect, in accordance with Article 21, Section A of the APC Constitution.
The notice underscores Ibrahim’s defiance of party directives, including his legal action against the APC and Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa despite instructions from the national party chairman. Additionally, Ibrahim’s purported encouragement of his supporters to defect to another party and his public statements disparaging the APC further contributed to the decision to suspend him.
This disciplinary action follows Ibrahim’s unsuccessful bid in the party’s gubernatorial primary election in the state and is a response to his perceived efforts to undermine the APC’s cohesion and goals.
