Bashir El-Rufai Hails ADC as Platform for a United Nigeria Ahead of 2027 Elections

Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, has expressed optimism about the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a unifying platform for Nigeria.

In a post on X on Thursday, Bashir wrote, “I’m sensing a united Nigeria under the flag of the ADC. For the first time in my life as a Nigerian.”

This comes shortly after the opposition coalition, featuring key figures like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, Nasir El-Rufai, and ex-Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi, officially adopted the ADC as their political platform to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.
