Adakole Elijah

Adakole Elijah, former media adviser to ex-Senate President David Mark and campaign director for Senator Abba Moro in the 2023 elections, has officially resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Elijah made the announcement in a statement released on Wednesday.

His resignation follows closely after David Mark was appointed interim national chairman of the coalition-backed African Democratic Congress (ADC). In his statement, Elijah lamented the current state of the PDP, describing it as a shadow of its former self, plagued by acrimony and divisive internal conflicts.

“With sentiments of profound reverence and an abundance of gratitude to the Omnipotent Providence that has guided my existence, I take up my pen to formally notify you of my irrevocable decision to relinquish my membership of the People’s Democratic Party, effective forthwith,” Elijah wrote.

He attributed his decision to the “intractable and deleterious state of affairs presently afflicting the party,” which he said has become characterized by “unbridled acrimony and jaundiced perspectives.”

Despite his resignation, Elijah expressed sincere appreciation to his former colleagues, highlighting the warmth and camaraderie he experienced during his tenure in the party.
