Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed strong confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC) to deliver a credible and successful governorship primary ahead of the 2026 election.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday after appearing before the APC Governorship Screening Committee, Governor Oyebanji reiterated his readiness to secure the party’s ticket during the primary election scheduled for October 27.

The screening, chaired by Hon. Tunji Olawuyi, marked a key step in the party’s internal election process. Governor Oyebanji, the first aspirant to be screened, arrived at the venue around 10:00 a.m. and spent approximately 15 minutes behind closed doors with committee members reviewing his credentials.

“I must commend the APC for putting this structure in place. It will save the party from a lot of problems,” he said. “I have absolute confidence that the party will get it right.”

He also urged the party’s national leadership to ensure a level playing field for all aspirants who successfully scale through the screening process.

“All aspirants should be allowed to sell their manifestos to party members. What matters is that whoever emerges as the party’s candidate must be supported. It is not just about individual ambitions—it’s about returning the APC to power in Ekiti and continuing to serve the people,” Oyebanji stated.
