Ganduje Denies Claims of Defection from APC to ADC
The immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has dismissed claims that he is planning to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing such reports as “fake news.”
Ganduje, who resigned from his position as APC National Chairman on June 27, 2025, citing health reasons, has been the subject of speculation regarding a possible move to the ADC, along with some of his political allies.
Reacting to the rumours, Ganduje’s spokesperson, Edwin Olofu, firmly denied the claims during a press briefing on Saturday. He emphasized that the former Kano State governor remains fully committed to the ruling APC and President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
“Ganduje is a committed member of the APC who is not just a loyal party man, but also loyal to the President and his Renewed Hope Agenda,” Olofu stated. “So, ignore those saying he is planning to leave the APC. It is just fake news.”
Ganduje, who served as governor of Kano State for two terms, was appointed APC National Chairman on August 3, 2023, during an emergency meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee.
