Guber Polls: APC Has No Chance in Edo, Ondo — PDP
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed doubt that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win the upcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states.
Umar Damagum, the acting national chairman of the PDP, made this statement during the inauguration of the PDP National Campaign Councils for the Edo and Ondo governorship elections on Thursday in Abuja.
Damagum emphasized that the way PDP candidates emerged in these states signals a strong potential for the party’s victory in the elections. He praised Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State for laying a solid foundation for the party’s success in the state election.
“We will not sit down and allow anybody to search, grab, and steal. We will be battle-ready for any thief that rears his head to steal our fortune,” Damagum asserted.
He further highlighted PDP’s achievements in Edo, attributing the success to Governor Obaseki’s efforts, and warned that it would be very difficult for any opposition to take Edo under a democratic setup.
Damagum also noted that Ondo is poised for a PDP win and urged the people of the state to seize the forthcoming election as an opportunity to bring about positive change.
