LG Election: I will not Impose any Candidate on the People – Gov. Nwifuru

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has cleared the air over the rumor circulating round the State that the governor will use his power to put candidates of APC into power during the forthcoming Local Government Council election in Ebonyi.

Nigeria News 247 reports this information from a post on the governor’s X account where he said:

Our Local Government election is by the corner. I am not disposed and will not impose any person on the people. It is left for the masses and stakeholders of each Local Government, to evaluate and gauge the performance meters of their respective chairmen and react accordingly.”

He continued saying: “This is my position on the forth coming Local Government election. I made this clear to our people on Sunday, May 12, 2024, as we gathered for the State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State.”

He finally thanked his party (APC) for their trust in him during the February/March 2023 elections. We have not and will not veer off our mantra of meeting the needs of Ebonyi people, as we have done in the past months, he sdaid.
