Ibadan North PDP Chairman, Prince Seun Adelore, Resigns Over Alleged Injustice and Intimidation
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State, Prince Seun Adelore, has resigned from his position and withdrawn his membership from the party, citing internal injustices and intimidation.
According to Nigeria News 247, Adelore’s resignation takes effect from July 7, 2025. His decision comes just weeks before the scheduled bye-election for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat, left vacant following the death of Hon. Musliudeen Olaide Akinremi, the former lawmaker who represented the area under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a resignation letter addressed to the Oyo State PDP Chairman and obtained by Nigeria News 247 on Monday, Adelore pointed to what he described as “deep-seated injustice” and a lack of reward for party loyalty as key reasons for his departure.
“I write to formally tender my resignation as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ibadan North Local Government, effective July 7, 2025. I also hereby withdraw my membership from the party,” the letter read.
Adelore stated that his resignation followed extensive consultations with his political associates and supporters.
His exit marks a significant development ahead of the upcoming bye-election, as he led the PDP in the very local government area where the election will be held. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recently announced that the poll will take place in August.
