I’m not from poor family like Amaechi – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has stated that unlike former Minister of Transport Rotimi Amaechi, he does not come from a poor family. He also confirmed owning a Rolls-Royce, which he says he purchased himself without anyone’s help.

Wike made these remarks during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, responding to Amaechi’s earlier claim that Wike owned a luxury car and was corrupt.

“I have a Rolls-Royce; nobody gave it to me. I bought it myself,” Wike said. “I did not come from the same background as Rotimi Amaechi. Even as a student, I was driving a Mercedes-Benz.”

He further explained, “My father managed several companies. I come from a wealthy background, though not as wealthy as the Dangotes.”
