Former Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam has dismissed rumors suggesting he secretly defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking on Sunday during a visit to Prof. Saasongo Nongu’s residence in Makurdi, Suswam emphasized that such a move would be beneath his political stature and a betrayal of his loyal supporters.

“I am too big to dump the ADC in secret. Leaving the party quietly would be the height of disgrace to my personality and a betrayal to my loyalists,” he said.

The former lawmaker reiterated his commitment to the ADC, describing himself as a proud and dedicated member focused on strengthening the party’s influence in Benue State and beyond.

Suswam also urged party members to unite behind Senator Mzondu, whom he praised as a visionary and dependable leader capable of upholding ADC’s core values.

In response, Senator Mzondu expressed gratitude for Suswam’s mentorship, pledging continued loyalty to both the former governor and the ADC.

“Senator Suswam has been a political father to me. His wisdom and leadership have shown me the right path to follow, and I remain loyal to him and the cause of our great party,” Mzondu said.
