Kano APC Leaders Rally Support for President Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Bid
Abdullahi Ganduje, immediate past National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Kano State Governor, along with Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and other key party stakeholders, met on Thursday in Abuja to show unified support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking after a closed-door meeting, Ganduje expressed confidence in the party’s strength in Kano State and its commitment to retaining the governorship seat in 2027.
“We are here to assure President Tinubu that the APC in Kano State stands solidly behind him. We appreciate his policy reforms, his work for the country, and especially his appointments benefiting the people of Kano State,” Ganduje said.
Deputy Senate President Barau described the meeting as strategic, emphasizing the need to communicate the President’s achievements to the people of Kano and the wider northern region.
“We are fully behind him and will do more to share what the President has done for our nation,” Barau stated.
Hon. Abubakar Bichi highlighted President Tinubu’s contributions to Kano, especially in infrastructure projects, dismissing claims that the President is neglectful of the North as mere politics.
The meeting also included notable figures such as Minister of State for Housing Alhaji Abdullahi Atta, Senators Kawu Sumaila and Kabiru Gaya, Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, Sulaiman Bichi, and Hon. Mohammed Garba.
