Kebbi Governor’s Aide Dan Umma Resigns, Defects to ADC
Hon. Nasiru Muhammad Dan Umma, popularly known as Katukan Kabi and a Special Adviser to the Kebbi State Governor, has resigned from his position and officially defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
According to Nigeria News 247, Dan Umma, a former member of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, announced his resignation in a letter dated July 7, 2025, addressed to the APC Ward Chairman of Kokani South Ward in Argungu Local Government Area.
“I have withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress and joined the African Democratic Congress,” the letter stated. Originally written in Hausa, the message described his decision as one made in good faith, with hopes it would be beneficial to all involved.
Dan Umma’s defection comes amid a wave of political realignment in Kebbi State, as parties and political figures begin early positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
