Kebbi PDP Backs Broad Coalition to unseat Tinubu in 2027
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State has expressed its willingness to join a larger political coalition aimed at dislodging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) both at the state and national levels.
This position was made public during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi, where party leaders emphasized their commitment to rebuilding the PDP and addressing internal issues stalling its progress.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, State PDP Chairman, Dr. Ibrahim Mera, announced that the party had resolved to support any credible alliance capable of challenging the APC’s political dominance. He also revealed that party members agreed to push for an early state congress, pending approval from the PDP’s national leadership.
Dr. Mera urged residents of Kebbi State not to lose hope amid worsening economic conditions, assuring them that meaningful change could come with the rise of responsible leadership.
Also speaking at the event, the PDP’s 2023 governorship candidate, retired General Aminu Bande, accused the APC-led government of worsening the economic crisis in the state. He further alleged that the administration is more focused on targeting opposition figures than delivering good governance.
