Lagos APC Attributes Rising Terror Attacks to Alleged Internal Saboteurs
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has alleged that the recent surge in terrorist attacks across the country is being driven by “internal saboteurs” undermining Nigeria’s security architecture.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the party’s spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, claimed that certain individuals within the nation’s security and political circles were aiding terrorist groups by leaking sensitive information, disrupting operational structures, and deliberately compromising security efforts.
According to the APC, the pattern of recent attacks indicates possible insider collaboration, citing what it described as the attackers’ unusually precise knowledge of troop movements, unexplained lapses at security checkpoints, and spikes in violence around key political moments.
Oladejo further accused some political actors of amplifying terrorist propaganda and exploiting the insecurity crisis for political gain. “These are not random incidents. They reflect a disturbing level of betrayal,” he said.
The Lagos APC maintained that only insiders could enable such coordinated breaches and called on the Federal Government to identify and prosecute those allegedly sabotaging national security operations.
Reaffirming its confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party said the administration has adopted a “ruthless, intelligence-driven strategy” to combat terrorism. It also commended the Armed Forces for their resilience despite what it described as attempts at sabotage by “a few bad eggs.”
Oladejo warned individuals accused of aiding or abetting terrorist activities that their “network will soon be uncovered,” expressing optimism that Nigeria will prevail over its current security challenges.
“Nigeria will not be brought to its knees to satisfy the ambitions of saboteurs or external interests,” the statement added.
