LG Polls: Lagos Deputy Governor Urges Lagos East Residents to Back APC Candidates
agos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, has called on residents of the Lagos East Senatorial District to support All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the upcoming local government elections scheduled for July 12.
Speaking at the APC’s mega campaign rally held on Saturday at Government College, Owutu, Ikorodu, Hamzat highlighted the achievements of the APC-led administration in Lagos, citing improvements in infrastructure, education, and healthcare as evidence of good governance.
“Do not be swayed by negative reports. Lagos State is performing excellently,” he said. “Come out en masse and vote for all APC candidates. The party is delivering dividends of democracy.”
Hamzat also reaffirmed the efforts of local government chairmen and councillors, insisting they have been working hard to serve their communities.
Other party leaders echoed his message during the event. Akanni Seriki, a member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), urged party members to remain united and focused on winning the elections. Former Deputy Governor and fellow GAC member, Abiodun Ogunleye, encouraged supporters to mobilize and vote en masse for APC candidates.
The rally featured the official unveiling of the party’s chairmanship and vice-chairmanship candidates across Lagos East. It was attended by top APC figures including GAC members, lawmakers, state executive council members, and representatives from market groups, trade unions, ethnic associations, and the general party faithful.
