Makinde urges Unity in PDP Amid move for Coalition
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and allied politicians to stay committed to their shared vision of unity, progress, and development, despite any internal challenges the party may face.
Speaking on Friday at the conclusion of the PDP South-West Zonal Caucus meeting held in Ibadan, Governor Makinde likened the party’s current situation to a homeowner facing a leaking roof, emphasizing that it would be unwise to abandon the house because of a repairable issue.
“You can’t abandon your house because of a leaking roof,” Governor Makinde said. “The PDP is built on a solid foundation, but like any structure, it can face wear and tear. It is our duty as party members to fix the leaks, strengthen the foundation, and ensure the house remains standing for the good of our people.”
He called on all party members to work together to resolve any issues, rather than leaving the party due to temporary setbacks. Governor Makinde also commended the dedication and sacrifices of party leaders and loyal members, reaffirming his commitment to working with stakeholders to secure the PDP’s future success.
“Let’s fix the roof together and keep this house strong for generations to come,” he concluded.
