NNPP Chieftain Urges Tinubu to Approve N200,000 Minimum Wage for Workers
Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider a minimum wage of N200,000 for workers, citing the inadequacy of the current wage to sustain them.
In a statement released on Wednesday and obtained by NIGERIA NEWS 247, Oguntoyinbo emphasized the necessity of prioritizing workers’ welfare, urging state governors nationwide to follow suit.
He stressed the indispensable role of workers in national development and urged Tinubu’s administration to prioritize enhancing the livelihoods of Nigerian workers.
“As a friend of Labor, I share in your joy and wish you a successful celebration devoid of violence and rancor.
“I also use this occasion to reiterate my call to our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to approve a minimum wage of N200,000 for our workforce.
“The reality of today has shown us that the current minimum wage cannot sustain the least workers in the country,” he stated.
