Prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, including House of Representatives members Hon. Sina Oyedeji (Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola) and Hon. Adebayo Adepoju (Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North), along with former governor Barrister Hazim Gbolarumi, have commended the peaceful conduct of Saturday’s bye-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

The trio, who monitored the election, praised voters, security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their professionalism and orderly conduct throughout the process.

Speaking to journalists at the Agbowo area of Ibadan, Hon. Oyedeji noted the calm atmosphere across polling units he visited.

“So far, so good. We’ve been to several locations—Bodija, Bashorun, and now Agbowo. Everything has been peaceful. The police and other security agencies did their jobs well, and INEC officials were prompt. Voters also conducted themselves responsibly,” Oyedeji said.

Hon. Adepoju, in his remarks, expressed satisfaction with the voter turnout and the enthusiasm of the electorate.

“The election has been very peaceful. People are genuinely excited to choose a representative, especially after going a year without one. It’s encouraging to see such engagement,” he said.

Also weighing in, Barrister Gbolarumi described the election as well-organized and commended all stakeholders involved.

“The process has been peaceful. Voters, INEC, and security agencies deserve praise for their roles in ensuring a smooth election,” he stated.

The bye-election was held to fill the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat, which had been vacant for the past year.
