Plateau Gov, Mutfwang Inaugurates PDP Protocol Sub-Committee Ahead of 2025 Convention
Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, on Monday officially inaugurated the Protocol Sub-Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in preparation for the party’s national convention scheduled for November 2025 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Speaking at the Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja, in his capacity as Chairman of the Protocol Sub-Committee, Governor Mutfwang described the inauguration as a critical step demonstrating the PDP’s readiness for the 2027 general elections. He emphasized that despite recent internal crises, the PDP remains a united and disciplined force.
“Although the party has faced serious setbacks, including infighting and defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the PDP remains strong, prepared, and determined to host a seamless, world-class convention with renewed confidence ahead of the general elections,” Mutfwang said.
He noted that the inauguration signals the party’s full mobilization as preparations for the elective convention reach full throttle.
“Today’s meeting shows that the PDP is very much alive, and we are treating the convention with utmost seriousness. We have a sacred responsibility to keep this platform alive and strong for the people of Nigeria,” he added.
Governor Mutfwang highlighted the pivotal role of the Protocol Sub-Committee in ensuring the convention’s success, calling on members to leverage their experience and professionalism to deliver a smooth and memorable event.
He further explained that the inauguration provides an opportunity for committee members to bond, strategize, and build synergy toward a flawless convention experience that will restore Nigerians’ confidence.
The governor reaffirmed the PDP’s position as the most credible, people-oriented political platform in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa, committed to upholding its core values and driving Nigeria’s democratic renewal.
