Plateau LG Elections: Gov. Mutfwang Dismisses Transition Committee Chairmen

With local government elections in Plateau State approaching, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has dissolved the 17 Local Government Transition Implementation Committee Chairmen, effective September 6, 2024. The Transition Implementation Committee chairmen were initially appointed on June 9, 2023.

In a press statement issued Friday night by Mr. Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the governor, it was announced that Directors of Personnel Management (DPMs) will oversee the councils until the elections on October 9, 2024.

Governor Mutfwang praised the Transition Committee Chairmen for their leadership and contributions to local development. He encouraged them to continue supporting peace and unity within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and to work with their communities to ensure the party’s success in the upcoming elections.

The governor also expressed gratitude to the people of Plateau State for their continued support and reaffirmed his commitment to an inclusive, transparent, and accountable government.
