President Tinubu Hints at Support for Governor Soludo’s Re-election Bid

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signaled possible support for the re-election of Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, reaffirming a longstanding relationship between the two leaders.

Speaking after a visit by Governor Soludo to the Aso Villa on Tuesday, Tinubu praised the governor as a progressive ally and a friend of over 20 years. Soludo had earlier told State House correspondents that his meeting with the President centered on key national issues, including the economy and security, though he declined to reveal specific details.

Taking to his verified Facebook page on Wednesday, President Tinubu confirmed the nature of their discussions and expressed a commitment to continued collaboration.

“It was a pleasure to welcome my friend of over two decades, Governor Charles Soludo, to the Villa,” Tinubu wrote. “We discussed the bold reforms underway, the need to stay the course, and the importance of tackling insecurity through decisive action and inclusive opportunities for our youth.”

He added, “Our administration will continue to partner with every state committed to human, social, and economic development. Nigeria’s progress is strongest when we work together.”

The President’s remarks are being interpreted by political observers as a subtle endorsement of Soludo’s second-term ambition.
