Former Governor of Jigawa State and founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Sule Lamido, has declared his full support for the opposition coalition spearheaded by the African Democratic Congress (ADC), while firmly maintaining his commitment to the PDP.

Speaking to journalists in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, Lamido emphasized that the opposition alliance is motivated by a shared concern for Nigeria’s stability and wellbeing—not personal or partisan gain.

“This coalition is a response to the growing hardship faced by Nigerians under the current administration,” Lamido said. “Any patriotic Nigerian who truly cares for the ordinary citizen must play a part in rescuing the country from the present situation.”

Despite endorsing the coalition, Lamido made it clear he has no plans to defect from the PDP.

“I remain in the PDP. It is a party we helped build, nurture, and through which we delivered progress to Nigeria. I will not leave it,” he affirmed.

Describing his current role in politics as one of mentorship and national guidance, Lamido noted that he is more focused on shaping the future of the country rather than seeking political office.

The remarks were made during a PDP political gathering in Dutse, where Lamido appeared alongside Senator Mustapha Khabeeb, who represents Jigawa South West in the National Assembly.

Also present was Alhaji Kabiru Hussaini, the Jigawa State Chairman of the ADC, whom Lamido introduced to PDP members as part of his broader effort to foster cooperation among opposition parties.
