The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its commitment to capturing Abia and Enugu states in the upcoming 2027 general elections, citing significant progress in the Southeast region.

During the APC South-East stakeholders’ meeting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, national vice chairman Ijeoma Arodiogu expressed confidence in the party’s prospects. He disclosed that discussions have been finalized for four Labour Party House of Representatives members in Enugu State to defect to the APC. Additionally, prominent figures, including former Abia State House of Assembly Speaker Chinedu Orji, have joined the party in Abia State.

Arodiogu emphasized, “We are well-positioned in all states of the Southeast, aiming not just for the minimum 25 percent but an impressive 80–90 percent in the 2027 presidential election.” He dismissed previous electoral narratives and urged unity within the party.
