Tinubu Will Drop Wike Once South-South Agenda Is Achieved – Sule Lamido
Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu will remove the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, once his political objectives in the South-South region are fulfilled.
Speaking during an appearance on Arise TV’s Prime Time on Tuesday night, Lamido alleged that Wike’s appointment was strategically driven to help Tinubu gain political control in the region.
“Tinubu was looking for someone who would help advance his political interests,” Lamido said. “The entire rationale behind Wike’s appointment was to secure the South-South.”
He further stated that President Tinubu had already made significant inroads in the region.
“So far, he has secured Akwa Ibom and Edo States, while Wike already has control of Rivers. Once Tinubu fully consolidates his influence in the South-South, Wike will become irrelevant, and he will be removed,” Lamido added.
“He was given that office for a specific purpose. Once that purpose is served, it will be the end of the road for Wike.”
