The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Debo Ologunagba, has said that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has no authority to impose conditions on the party.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Ologunagba was responding to recent comments made by Wike, emphasizing that the PDP operates strictly in line with its constitution and is not subject to directives from any individual.

“PDP has not, and will not, take conditions from anybody. We will follow our constitution,” he said. “We have a South-South zonal caretaker committee, and they are functioning in that capacity. When the time comes for congresses, every eligible member from the zone will have the right to contest.”

Ologunagba also addressed party loyalty, stating that while members are free to leave, such decisions would be to their own detriment, describing defection as a “voyage of no discovery.”
