You won’t return to power – Wike dares David Mark, Amaechi, other ADC Leaders
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Friday, issued a sharp rebuke to Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, and opposition coalition chieftain Rotimi Amaechi, urging them to stop deceiving Nigerians about the state of the country.
Speaking at the commissioning of the newly rehabilitated Aguma Palace-Radio Nigeria-New Market Road in Gwagwalada, FCT — an event attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima on behalf of President Bola Tinubu — Wike insisted that the coalition led by Mark and Amaechi will not return to power in 2027.
Wike challenged the ADC leaders to show their performance records while in office, pointing out their long tenures but poor track records. He contrasted this with the current administration’s work ethic, highlighting that in just 16 days, President Tinubu’s administration has been commissioning multiple projects.
He declared:
“You started your coalition 18 months ago when Tinubu had been in office six months. When will you stop deceiving Nigerians? David Mark had eight years as Senate President; Amaechi served as Speaker and Minister of Transportation but never delivered results to make Nigerians happy. Now that you are out of office, you claim Nigerians are angry to justify your return — you will not come back to power.”
