You’ve lost your place as PDP member – CP-PDP replies Wike
The Conference of Professionals in the Peoples Democratic Party (CP-PDP) has declared that Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is no longer recognized as a member of the PDP.
The group, comprising professionals within the party, criticized Wike’s recent media comments, accusing him of attempting to interfere in the internal affairs of the PDP. They urged Nigerians to disregard any statements he makes concerning the party.
During a media chat on Monday, Wike reportedly made remarks suggesting he could influence the direction of the PDP. However, the CP-PDP dismissed his comments, asserting that his open support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu disqualifies him from being considered a member of the opposition.
In a statement signed by its chairman, Obinna Nwachukwu, the group described Wike as merely an “appointee and apologist” of the Tinubu administration, which they labeled a failure.
“The FCT Minister must understand that the PDP has evolved beyond being controlled or influenced by inflammatory rhetoric,” the statement read.
The group also emphasized that the leadership structures of the PDP in the South South and South East zones are firmly in place and functioning effectively.
They dismissed Wike’s references to court orders concerning the leadership of these zones as irrelevant, urging party members and the public to ignore such claims.
