Zamfara APC Crisis: Ward Executives Lift Suspension of State Chairman
The executive members of Galadima Ward in Gusau, of the All Progressive Congress (APC), who had recently suspended the state chairman, Alhaji Umar Tukur Danfulani, have unanimously reversed their decision.
The ward executives retracted their suspension by signing and submitting a withdrawal letter to the state party headquarters.
Tijjani Abubakar Dan Ayya, the Gusau Local Government chairman of the party, accepted the notice of withdrawal, stating that the executives had been misled into signing the suspension letter.
According to the party’s publicity secretary, the suspension meeting was held with a senatorial aspirant who had gathered the leaders to discuss his ambitions for the 2027 elections. An attendance sheet circulated for signatures was later misused for the suspension.
During the handover, the Gusau Local Government APC Chairman, Tijjani Abubakar Dan Ayya, noted that the withdrawal letter reaffirmed the executives’ loyalty to Danfulani and the State APC leadership.
Responding on behalf of the state chairman, APC State Secretary Ibrahim Umar Birnin Magaji praised the executives for reversing the controversial and illegal suspension.
“I urge all peace-loving members of the APC to remain calm and committed to recapturing Zamfara State by 2027,” he added.
Birnin Magaji also warned that the party would take action against those behind the unconstitutional suspension, as it had caused unrest within the state and the party.
NIGERIA NEWS 24/7 recalls that a few days ago, a letter signed by eight executive members of Galadima Ward announced the suspension of state chairman Umar Tukur Danfulani.
