Zamfara PDP Chairman’s Media Aide Defects to APC, Cites Party Crisis

Muhammad Isah, media aide to the Zamfara State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Jamil Jibo Magayaki, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Isah announced his decision on Monday, attributing his defection to recent developments within the PDP, which he described as troubling and indicative of internal instability.

His departure comes shortly after the PDP’s candidate in the Kaura Namoda South State Constituency bye-election, Hon. Muhammad Lawal Kurya, also joined the APC following his loss in the August 21, 2025, poll.

“I recall the Kaura Namoda South bye-election held on August 21, where the APC candidate secured victory with a landslide margin,” Isah stated.

His move adds to the wave of defections from the PDP to the ruling APC in Zamfara, reflecting growing concerns about the PDP’s internal cohesion and its political prospects in the state.
