2025 FIFA Club World Cup: Fluminense, Chelsea Advance to Semi-Finals
Fluminense and Chelsea have become the first two teams to secure spots in the semi-finals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, currently taking place in the United States.
Both sides sealed their places in the last four following dramatic quarter-final victories in the early hours of Saturday.
Fluminense edged past Saudi champions Al Hilal with a 2-1 win, thanks to goals from Matheus Martinelli and Hércules. The Brazilian side delivered a composed performance to advance to the semi-finals.
Chelsea also secured a 2-1 victory, this time against Palmeiras. Cole Palmer opened the scoring for the Blues in the first half, before Estêvão brought the Brazilian side level shortly after the break. However, a late own goal by Agustín Giay handed Enzo Maresca’s side the win and a place in the next round.
Two more quarter-final clashes are scheduled for later today:
-
Paris Saint-Germain vs Bayern Munich
-
Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid
The winners of those matches will complete the semi-final lineup as the competition heats up.
