2026 WCQ: Super Eagles Receive Ajayi Boost Ahead of Cheetahs Clash

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Semi Ajayi trained with the Super Eagles on Sunday night ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against the Cheetahs of Benin Republic.

Both players sustained injuries in last Friday’s 1-1 draw with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

Dele-Bashiru, who scored Nigeria’s equalizer, suffered a thigh injury around the hour mark and was replaced by Alhassan Yusuf in the 61st minute.

Ajayi was also substituted 10 minutes before the end after picking up a knock.

Monday’s match will take place at Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, with kick-off at 5pm Nigeria time.
