AFCON 2025 Qualifier: “What a Week!” – CAF Praises Super Eagles Star

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has praised Ademola Lookman after the Super Eagles forward played a key role in Nigeria’s 3-0 victory over Benin Republic in Saturday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Lookman delivered an impressive performance, scoring twice to help Augustine Eguavoen’s team secure the win at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. Victor Osimhen also added a goal during the match.

The Atalanta forward was named Man of the Match as Nigeria took all three points against Gernot Rohr’s side.

In a tweet following the game, CAF shared a photo of Lookman with the caption: “What a week Ademola Lookman is having.”

Earlier in the week, Lookman was also shortlisted for the prestigious Ballon d’Or award, ranking among the top 30 players in the world.
