Nigerian midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru emerged as a key substitute, scoring a decisive goal in the 86th minute to secure a late win for Nigeria over Libya in the AFCON qualifiers in Uyo.

Earlier in the match, Samuel Chukwueze missed a crucial one-on-one opportunity in the 70th minute that could have given Nigeria the lead.

Ademola Lookman appeared to have doubled the score in the 83rd minute, but his effort was disallowed for offside.

With Victor Osimhen injured, the Super Eagles relied on Victor Boniface, Lookman, and Moses Simon in their attacking lineup.

Lookman and Boniface were influential in Nigeria’s previous matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda. Simon, who came off the bench in those games, started in place of Chukwueze.

Stanley Nwabali held the goalkeeper position, supported by a defensive line of Ola Aina, William Troost-Ekong, Bruno Onyemaechi, and Calvin Bassey.
